Post Lockable diff LNA/GS gearbox
So I have read a few places about 2cv's being fitted with a lockable diff... Does anyone know how it can be done to a GS gearbox?

Cheers,

Harley

Some pics,
The output shaft is a longer new item,
Deeper new bearing carrier.
Spline welded to diff carrier.

Approx £1000.
This set up is much harder for GS as there is no separate bearing carrier.
ps
Dac Mac prop shafts may be able to make a "Gripper" diff for a GS if enough interest.
http://www.davemacprops.com/gripper.html
ps Better than Quaiffe as they work if one wheel is off the ground.
About £800???!!!
pss Traction control using Xantia ABS parts?

Yeah I've been looking into traction control with brake control... it the megasquirt would be able to run it but it is a bit of a high tech compromise over a locker > lsd. But I could be wrong....
I will catch up with some local experts and see what they come up with...

LSD (Quaife or Gripper) is more gentle on the transmission.
Lockers break the transmission, I still have the damaged bits, have also seen a broken rear drive shaft!.
Traction Control is part done, hydraulics/pump in place, ABS sensors/rotors being made.
So far £80 for front and rear diffs.
Electronics to be resolved? may be LPGO can assist ;) .

I feel a project coming up!!!!!

Traction control is a reversed ABS I guess........

You need 4 sensors at all 4 wheels

The chip checkes say 1/100 of a second the wheelspeed on 1 axle

front left and right
rear left and right

theres no need to check diffrence between front and rear because there a 1 to 1 connection (at the 2cv) there so speed between front and rear must be the same

when there is more speed diffrence on 1 axle then lets say 20% (you must make turns without traction control coming in) the fastest wheel should slow down. So you need to
have an electronic relais to open the valve and slow the wheel down.

But the problem is that it opens the valve long enough that it just brakes enough and not to much this is the challenge........

Fastest way to achieve this......... Steel a landrover Freelander 5 and take all the goodies you need!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o 8-)

I've once had an BX 16V with ABS and a CX TURBO 2 with ABS but I didn't notice how many electric valves there are and so on...... so if someone has pictures......

How do you want to make the sensor pickup? toothed ring on diskbrake with a hallsensor to messure the wheelspeed!!!

Another thought, messure the speed of the propshaft, messure the speed of the 2 wheels do some math and you can brake the fastest wheel.....

Thinking about it this is the best solution:

I think I can do this:

Messure speed on propshaft, messure speed of 1 wheel

calculate from propshaftspeed the theoretical wheelspeed (pignon crownwheel ratio+ gearbox ratio)
If the wheel is faster then you have to slow it down if it is slower you need to slow down the other wheel..... Works only in 1 gear (1 gear obvious)........ but it can work!!

You need to do it at front box and rearbox...

Tell me what you want.......

Yeah bois!
I see the Megasquirt 3 guys mention this for basic traction control, cutting spark and fuel to limit rpm's, but I haven't found any write ups about controlling the brakes...

You can mill a sort of toothed pattern in the disk...something like this but into the disk.
