Post Gear Ratios - GS/LNA
1st gear on the LNA gearbox is a bit to long for crawling up hills...

My next move was to get an LN gearbox from Europe which has a slightly shorter final drive, but...

After playing on Cats' tuning calculators I realised that the GS type boxes have one of two final drives;
[*]Long 4.125 found in LNA/GS1220
[*]Short 4.375 found in LN/GS1015/GSA 4 speed

I have a GS 1015 gearbox in pieces at home... Can I swap the diff from the 1015 in to the LNA to get the shorter final drive?
I assume the backlash will have to be set :?

Does this also mean I could swap drive ratios to get a longer 4th gear from a GSA 4 speed?

FYI
Pinion shaft and Crown wheels are always paired.
Parts from GS 4/5 speed can be swapped.
LNA to GS...... try it.
