"Try out" to pin gear onto shaft Using an old gear, have drilled and plugged two 4.9mm holes. First attempted. Using 5mm hardened pins od 5mm but they only go in <1mm, had thoughts of getting ground to 4.9mm + but that is a lot of hassle. Second attempt. Having taken my spare box apart a good while ago, I'm just reassembling it on my coffee table in my lounge. I love being single.  I have progressed to the stage where I have to keep recovering the springs from behind the sofa.

A little tapered reamer, and you can have whatever size ever works with... |
