Shortened Main Shaft.
Needs to be threaded to take a 20mm Nut, however a bastard of a job as the shaft is very hard

M20 x 1.5, Tried to cut on the Lathe, it does Metric threads :D.
Broke the carbide inserts , the first pinion shaft I did was done successfully??
Rummaged through the die collection and I had a die, had to buy (ebay) a large die stock.
Turned the shaft down, it was a very rough finish.
Used the die to cut the thread looks OK and the nut fits nicely.

While the gearbox case is being welded, set my mind on the transfer shaft that runs at engine rpm and connects between the font diff housing and the remote 4 speed gearbox.
Found a couple of cheap Kawasaki drive shafts which are good to 9000+ rpm.
Splined parts fit the rear of the layshaft and the front of the layshaft, just need to be very carefully TIG welded.
