Thanks for the info guys,

The reason I am looking at a lower ratio is that I have 155/80 R15 tyres, and with the LNA gearbox it is really to long.

AlthoughI will be fitting the Visa engine some time... For slower climbing I think the lower ratio will be much better.

So practically, if i did get a custom crownwheel and pinion made, how difficult would it be to install in the gearbox?
It has been a while since I had the gearbox apart...

Cheers

The most Precise job on an A series....
Setting the Pinion "Height" and Pinion "backlash".
Needs a dial gauge and some shims.

Great work Pete,
I used to mill stuff, we had an indexing head a bit like this https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=milli ... 9ksyDjE1DM: we used it to make PTO splined shafts for horticultural compost mixers. You could make your own gears when you've got five minutes :D

@rob massey55, thanks also that is interesting, as I can borrow an indexing head from the guys that wire erode the internal splines. The next project is to mill splines onto a shaft....so I may pick-up some hints from you :)

Acquired some Coil Over springs, will fit these over the front struts, to provide, the standard ride height.
The plan being to use the LDS struts only when needed, thus the need for auto leveling should not be needed :D
