If you can fibreglass together some form of reliable 2cv gearbox with a low ratio as per a Navarra/Land Rover in it, I will buy it.

Navara is un believably reliable. 200k and still like it is new!

Never heard of one with a *standard*drive train blowing up a gearbox like our 2cv has!

Gear Ratio
1st gear in Low ratio a paltry :o 44.09 : 1.
Investigating a LNA box for its gears?

Believe me it can't take it.......

Driving my Mehari 4x4 gearbox is like walking on eggs. 3 problems
1- lubrication is not good (always put 2 littres oil extra in the gearbox )...
2- bearings of the reduction gears are crap. (putting in new ones every other year, by every oil changing look for little pieces of bearings (needles 5x2mm)
3- gearing is so low that the total gearbox is twisting under torq

But crawling at about 3 mile/hour at 3500rpm is sooo cool.........................
and shifting thru 7 gears working to top speed also.............
