Pete,
been looking at your photographs and wondering how you've sorted the Ackerman effect on the 'back to front' front axle?
Not enough detail to see if you've relocated the steering ball joints.

Ken

Ken,

If steers OK on the driveway!
The arms (from Gardner) have been inverted and standard castor and camber applied.
The axle-tube has been "sliced" and the pinion inverted.
The steering-rack has the steering-balls holes relocated.

driving suzuki sj on a daily basis
I can't help noticing that you placed the T-case in an upright position!
you know the oil won't come up to your upper barings this way?

like what your building tho
really like the 3 gearbox and high/low combi your getting like this
is it still posible to sift with the front and back ones for extreme low gearing?

maybe an lj80 t-case would be better thats upright already ;)
and a bit smaller for more space

Brammie,
Tbox location is a tight fit, so its upright.
You info about oil at the top of the box is now of a concern.
Does the oil not splash.... that far?
The front/rear boxes are empty, just the diff parts.
Would an lj80 box have the same drive flanges?
Are the Lj80 boxes like hens-teeth?
Cheers

ow! no they are not that rare and should be not that expensive

I asked a mate(my sj guru ;) ) and you can combine the flanges
take the lj flange and U joint combine that with the U joint from the sj propshaft and your done

would be nice if you still had the gears
front and back in first t-case in low and drive 50m p/h with 3500rpm
great for rockcrawling

building a twin T-case settup for my sj soon
gatering parts for it now 8-)

Two Steps Forward One Step Backwards......

Fitting the engine and gearbox in a tight space.
Had to move the rear diff back 5cm to prevent the fan housing hitting the box.

Will also have to chop the top off the new housing, will try with original housing first

Forgot how complex a GS engine is compared to a 2CV

Two Steps Forward... Two Steps back....

The exhaust manifolds need more room..
Need to move the mounting for the shock-absorber.

If the existing manifolds can't be squeezed in, maybe some work to fabricate the exhaust
