 My Sahara lookalike :o
After getting many questions p.m.(ed) and spoiling other-mans topics I decided to make a Saharalookalike topic. I always been fascinated by AWD cars and trucks and so I wanted to make my own 4x4. For me the easyest to build was a 2 engined 2cv, I just needed a welder (which I already had time and good thinking). First I picked an old Dyane put a second engine in and made a gearbox/shiftstick connection. After seeing a real Sahara I came to the conclusion I made the gearbox precisely the same like the real thing is to. I will exlplain later how it works. With a Dyane operating so well in the terrain, I decided to mak a "real Sahara" together with a friend of mine. Here are some pics which are taken for a local news paper where the car gots its own article. Here some pictures taken by the press photograph: I can't find my own pictures from the making of right now, but I still keep looking for them.

the bits to produce it, (special gear box linkages, the clutch bits and anything else different to standard) how did you go aobut these, did you produce them yourself? Well for me it's very simple, I start to think and when I think it's possible I start to work and I work till it works (for me) wenn it doesn't work I start over and over till it really works, do you understand. This is also a great advice for you, don't ask questions, just do it. Take your new battery for example. Don't ask questions about how to make it fit, start doing it. Get some (longer)cables (for example from a scrapyard)but do it, make a start and when you run into a problem solve it and go on to the next problem solve it again, when you don't know an answer to your problem let us now (at the forum) but try first at your own, but when you first ask questions before doing things you get a situation like your battery topic.... So when do we see a picture from a finnished project with your new battery............
