Thanks to Evil Ben's Dyane air ride topic http://www.international2cvfriends.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3447&start=170 I've just ordered 4 Monroe MA828 airshocks for my 4x4....... in USA... finally hoping on a decent solution for air-riding my 4x4........ just for your entertainment, something like this..... They have a stroke of more then 10 inch....... I think I need 4 on 1 axle....... to cope the force needed at the Original mounting (measured 1/3) so you need 3 times the power to a conventional spring setup..... |

This is what I had in my head for over 2 years (luckely no voices)  Walking around with a bo*er looking at this... sorry....... Can't wait to see my car going up and down on air....

I sure do help you hope it works. It would be great to have a well working suspension/damper combination in one unit, well a bit more units in your case  What's the diameter of the "bag" and the piston rod? |

Something around 70mm for the piston.... I did some calculations in Excel and I come to the conclusion that 2 times 70mm pistons equal 1 100mm piston... Here is the Excell sheet it is in Dutch but that will be no problem for you.... Attachment: You can een substract the diameter of the pistonrod.... Not sure if i completely understand your sheet, but i'm sure you'll get it working. It looks like there is enough room on the suspension ears to move the Monroes even more out, in case the needed air pressure is to high with the current position. What compressor will you be using? |
