Chopping the chairs in the middel 5cm at the outside 8,5 cm because the floorpanel starts to rise there..




Made 2 wedges? to straiten the risen floorpanels to hold the frontseat-sliders






made 2 tube's to strengten the rear-seat fixpoints.





Bringing the legs of the rearseats further to the front
to make room for a petrol tank underneath the rear-seat...........

I'm a brave man doing a project like this. (I never, never, never, going to do a big project like this again) I think.

I love this project-the inginuity is brilliant. Just goes to show, you don't need much of a car to use it and put it back together again.

Haha, well we're obviously equally mad!

Mine's prpbably easy compared to yours though-I'm just piecing back together what's fallen off and rusted away, you're reinventing things and doing it your own way. I like that, I wish I was brave enough to do something like that.

Although, I keep making plans to use my BX turbo diesel floorpan when the body finally falls apart completely-something along the lines of either an Acadiane or an Ami body on the full hydraulics and TD running gear.......

I'm the same, I can, when bothered, make a half decent job of replacing panelwork, but to build something completely different and with much new design behind it is something I'd love to do, but have neither the time, money or talent to do so.

I'd love my car exactly as it is but rwd, so it handled properly in the rain, but I'd be too scared to go hacking it up in the vain hope I'd get it back together again.

My gut feeling is that the throat depth isn't big enough. I also dont think there is enough inherent strength in the frame. You look at the really good old fashioned English wheels and the structure is enormously heavy cast iron. If the frame flexes it just won't work properly.

It is quite feasible to build a decent frame out of sections. The wheels are relatively speaking fairly cheap.
