This happend about 15 years ago, I was driving downhill about 30%
wanted to turn around again one off my frontwheels came in a ditch and the rest is history.

I was driving about 5 km/h but still going to fast to look at such a meter

I think when your driving at the meter you can only go inch by inch and see what happens,but I think you can feel it better with your but then with a
meter, but it looks very very very very very very cool indeed............

One question, what is the upper meter/index for? (5-0-5)

The Sahara has another meter (mine too) witch indicates the position of your front wheels, (left, middle, right) this is a very helpful meter when you are in muddy terrain and you've got no feedback from your wheels,

Its a spring witch sits around the steeringwheel-axle/shaft?, about 8 windings, one end attached to the steeringwheel axle the other to the support, now an little pointer attached to the middle winding go's from 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock indicating the position of the wheels. It's such a simple technic but very very effective and useful.

I bet the top one is for mild slopes (up to 6 degrees in either direction).
The lower scale is for the proper "Oops, I've done it again!" sort of business.

My shogun had a tiltometer and trust me anything over 5 degrees and your looking out the big window rather than looking at a guage on the dash

I think it's called dynorun, everything you named above is in it. I use it to streetdyno my (turbo powered 2cv).

You can feed it with the specs of your car and with example the weight of your car, GPS, it can calculate acceleration and so HP. no kidding.

You can datalog a hole trip too and see if your new setup of the ecu is faster or slower then the last one.

There was, once, a red and shite D*lly going around with a arrow on the bootlid and a set of markings showing the angle it was cornering at to the cars following.I don't know why more people haven't done it, it seemed like a nice idea.

Once I've had an old azu 250. When I did a corner I didn't need such a meter, the cars(s) behind me always backed off (I think they thought my car was going on it's side). It always amused me.
