It's all about tyres - I had a much easier job getting the Saab moving off an office forecourt yesterday than the Frontera next to me - even once he'd put it in 4x4. <pats Vredestein winter tyres fondly>

I've been taking the normal back lanes across to the office - the nearest I had to a problem was the snow on one stretch was in big waves, due to drifting, and I was running out of suspension travel!

We got 18 inches to 2 foot dumped on us last week, and nothing was moving in this part of Brittany but the tractors. So as I'm currently 2CV-less I had to resort to skis (the Twingo was going nowhere). I'd just got down to the edge of the village when I hear the dulcet sounds of something two cylindered, and out of the thickening mist came the ratiest, battered old Dyane, looking like a barn had fallen on it, but merrily whirring along with his tractor tyres on and the chassis sliding along the snow.

Warmed my heart it did.

Camera? You're kidding, I was far too cold to take my hands out of my pockets (and as usual it was one of those "argh no camera moments").

Slightly O/T I guess but, this'll be out playing again soon as I've just fetched it back here to Spanners "Tat, welding and general fixery emporium" to sort the MOT snags out for Jon.

I *may* start a thread for you Jon in the "My A series" section as the work goes along. Unless you want to start it yourself and I'll update it as I go along? ;)

Anyway, first stage is over with in so much as I managed to get the trailer, car and Discovery back on the drive so that's the hard bit done with! 8-)
