Post Satellite telephone
Worst case scenario. We need to be able to call for assistance in case of an emergency. Does anybody know if we can rent or buy one and will the phone work everywhere? We also need to find out what number to ring in case we need help. We are not planning any accidents or snake bites etc but don’t want to have a situation and not know what to do.

I do know that a sat phone will work anywhere, but I have my doubts that we will get fast help out there if anything happens. But we should try to find out.

Here http://www.fleetcom.no/iridium_rental_172.html we can rent a satphone for just about 200 Euro + 150 Euro for 75 min of "talktime"

If we are just five cars i will be only 70 Euro each - worth to pay if somthing like an rescuehelicopter is available in Morocco - I do have my doubts about that, but will try to find out.

Good idea. Norway is an expensive contry but they have a lot of remote areas and many people who like to go there+ heli based help, so Actually there could be some market up there in contrast to Denmark for example.

Of course we in Denmark have a lot of sailers who cant calculate on mobilephone but we do also have a good VHF radio system for them,

We can use a satphone for a couple of things but I dont think we schould bring it for getting medical help.
It will probally be better to make a bead in one of the cars and go for the nearest hospital or place were you can use a cellphone to get help.

Looks like its pointless to get a satelite phone, no one to ring.
Agree, lets turn a 2cv in to an ambulance and shoot off to hospital.
Need to look at travel insurance for hospital cover etc, bills, air lift back home and transport of 2cv to home as well.
