Thanks & sorry, I didn't look good enough as I should have been able to find that myself as well...

I have my concerns about going in July, really. It will be extreemly hot and although some especially like to go then because of the heat, I ask myself why make it harder and probably enjoy less because of that.
Mind you that all 2cv raids/travellers to Africa I can think of go in spring or autumn.

I have a serious think about it and chat here and there etc.

Heat to me is no worries. I guess I'm used to it from Australia. Main issue is to stay hydrated + drive naked

One can say very cool that heat doesn't bother, but I looked at dates of other Africa trips. 2cv Raids, Touareq Trail, Paris-Dakar, Amsterdam/Plymouth-Dakar etc. all Africa trips go any season except mid summer...

Ofcourse one will cope, and the idea of finishing at the WM is great, but will one have the best of the trip when going in mid summer?

Many folks travel to southen Spain during summer to cook on the beach. I prefer to cook inside a 2cv and to see Morocco at the same time. Bring a spray bottle filled with water to spray your face and upper body while driving. It not a big deal really, more a mental game to overcome in your mind. Done the crossing of Australia in 45 degrees driving for days. Yes it is hot but you get used to it after a while. Sedans has the benefit of rolling the roof back. I was in my Viking Van (AK 400) no such fortune.
Hope you'll join us. Its going to be great I'm sure.

Morocco is not the deep desert most of it is at altitude, and as long as there is option to head to the coast if it gets too much should be OK. I spent 2 weeks on the costal area during one of the periods when there was a SE air stream, 45 in shade and Everyone in Morocco with a car headed for the coast that was April/May

45 was bad enough but naked in a greenhouse on wheels without a bar and a palm tree .....not for me, must be getting soft (or sensible) ;)

PS original proper raid did it finishing in Marseilles in December, and still they suffered with the heat in the Tenere
