Nicky,
lovin the you tube clip

like the way at the start you gently pick your way over a tiny washout ( Rekkam Plateau?) and by the end your gunning it up the rocky river bed

Viking/Hildebrandt
i too have some route books from Morroco with GPS waymarks
if they are of a similar area i can put them down for you (or scan them to disk)

basically down the eastern Morroco: Debdou-rekkam plateau-Talsinnit-Oued Ziz(Er Rachida)-Erfoud-(Erg Chebbi) off piste west to Zagora up Oued Draa to Mhamid then it was north over Atlass to Marrakech.

Sean

I doubt this seriously concerns Raid Afrique 2011, but I thought I'd flag up something that appeared on another forum concerning new Moroccan rules on Raids, Rallyes etc. They appear to have decided to involve bureaucracy, and government departments, and permissions.

And HERE is the link to download the original Moroccan documentation in French (shouldn't be a problem for 2CViking ;) )

It probably doesn't affect things, unless suddenly everyone gets professional, but better safe than up shit creek.

Was only going to be a matter of time, what with Dakar spin offs and banger rallys, 4x4 adventures etc the Morrocans were bound to get sick of marauding partys of Europeans thrashing through their country.

If you combine the tracks of 2008 and 2009 from the Touareg Trail you can make a round trip in Marocco.

I participated in the 2007 and 2009 edition of the Touareg Trail, so I did all the tracks. The last part of the link is the date. For example the track Bourarfa-Merzouga was driven on 2009-11-04.
The tracks of 2009 were quite difficult, because it was the hardcore edition.

Does anybody have the "Fully Loaded" Kgs of their Raid cars.

Something to aim for!

I used a "Weigh Bridge" before I went to Finland (2009) and was very suprised!!!

Cheers
