Thanks Ulrik. Have you looked at how you get to the ferry and which one?

At the moment I prefere Tarifa Tangier I think we could find a nice camp there as the first meeting point - but I must say that I first off all am looking at the off road tracks down south. there are lots of beatyfull rough places to find. Dayly desert tracks about 200 300 km where we easaly can find our own wildcamps, I would have liked us to visit the Plage Blanche at the atlantic coast but myabee it is too far. on the other hand I could chosse to short-cut some off the dessert driving and take longer distances at paved road....

We are getting close to some dates.

Meeting point Southern Spain most likely Algeciras the 2nd of July 2011. The following day 3rd of July is ‘’rest-day’’ shopping, repairs, look around etc. Sailing across on the 4th July to Tangier catching up with others arriving from Sete. Can anyone suggested a suitable meeting place in Tangier?
When all has arrived and ready to go, we are off.

This is NOT set in concrete but a rough schedule. We will raid in Morocco around 3 weeks and finish at the 2CV world meeting in Salbris 26th July 2011

Brilliant Ulrik

Do you know the time it takes to sail across?

Camping fees should be less than 20-25 euros

It takes 35 min. to get across to Africa. I have planed a 212 km trip from Tanger on the first day so we better get to the ferry as early as possible - + we have to be there one hour before departure so I guess we´re leaving Tarifa at 8 o´clock.

High season: 2 adult 6,48 + 1 car 3,24 + 1 tent = 21,06 euro- Half the price of Denmark i guess.

Best Regards
Ulrik

How much time are you allowing for clearing the port, customs, passport control?

When we did the Dakar, it took around three hours to clear Ceuta into Morocco - and you shouldn't underestimate the mental exhaustion from the culture shock & stress of doing so on those who aren't "old Africa hands"... Whilst it was a lot easier than some of the internal borders (Ah, the Senegalese!), Dover-Calais it wasn't.

The reason I have chosen Tarifa Tanger is that it should be a lot easier to pass the customers than the very timespending Ceuta Morrocco border.

It is 212 km to drive and if it takes to long time getting into the country, we can chose an alternative route that is faster and on quite good roads.
