Well if the car is prepared to a very high standard you don't need much. If the coil, points, plugs, fan belt, alternator etc etc is new or near new, there is no need to carry these spares. One problem is parts falling off the car during the raid but checking every single, screw, bolt and nuts should eliminate that. Some people prefer to be independent caring their own parts and to fix their own car, no worries as long as you bring a complete set of tool. The TEC team (Tail End Charlie) will also have what’s needed.

id add a few to the list and loose some

Water only jerrycan 10l min MUST be carried by all cars and be full ( especially as your heading off in the hot summer months)
small water bottle, cloth covered always available to driver

sand plates of some sort( some of the smaller oueds have steep sides and are bottomless feche feche( bull dust)

I took a plastic washing up bowl which was great for washing the airfilter

points and condenser new and ready fitted/gapped in points box

fuel pump

plugs and lead

helicoil set( 1 per raid)

compass, you cant take a bearing with a gps....it only tells you where you are

its also worth thinking about flares for getting lost, and a set time for firing we had 9pm, its quite re assuring when the raid got split and we couldnt make the rendevous
and thought we were lost , at 9pm our parties flare went up - then the other party set theres off and were only a bout 10k away joined them for breakfast the next day
