Not quite the 13th Jan, but strangely I am going to be in Bamako on Christmas Day in a 2CV... if all goes to plan.

Very seriously.

A plan is starting to form - head across Algeria rather than Western Sahara/Mauritania. The visa might be an issue, though, since Algeria apparently want proof of hotel bookings for every night of your visit.

The real killer's going to be whether Ellie can get time off work - she's asking her boss in a couple of days...
