 Re: Touareg Trail
OK. It's a guy from Norfolk. He called in at Eleanor's whilst I, and a few others, inc. Max, were there at the weekend.
He and his daughter are doing the trail this year. He bought the car as a bleu celeste knocked-down kit from a certain well-known place in the north of England. Incidently, he's so pissed off with what he got, at what price, and the quality of certain parts (such as the chassis) that he'll never go there again.
Anyway, he built the car up to raid spec himself. Looks like he's done a very nice job of it. It does have some rather hefty extra protection, mind, so it's tough, but it might have issues maintaining forward motion in sand. Still, it looks cool, and drives nicely.

 Re: Touareg Trail
Hollis told me about the way it was sold, shocking! They have more front than blackpool!
Any pics of Eleanor and hollis' car?

 Re: Touareg Trail
".....its not a limo" * Intrested to see what mods were done for the raid Some of the suggested mods on Touareg site i wouldnt necessarily agree with, and some Id insist on... However the Touareg publicity jugernaught seems a well organised and safe umbrella! Looked a running a UK Maroc one few years back but the people that wanted to go were just not the people Id have wanted to risk such a journey with Sean *on going wind up with Hollis "Limo" implies LUXURY

Original chassis need a fair bit of prep to survive that sort of punishment hardcore raiders usually use good Ami8 chassis and ive seen can mounts pull off and longerons collapse. Sean
