I have allways liked the early van. Allthough van is allways not so useable than berline. There was really nice yellow van on the previous Touareg trail...

Hmmmm....I'd quite fancy one of those to fit a spare under the bonnet. Though I was chatting to a lady at the Bathtub Club Drive it Day meeting on the 26th April and she told me she had a Dyane and it caught fire and was engulfed very quickly, the cause was a short across the battery due to the spare wheel....not good. :(

It won't happen if the wheel's secured properly.

The wheel itself won't short the battery out, but the carrier will if you're not careful when you remove it, I suppose if your chassis was sagging or your wings were in the wrong place for any other reason it would do it too...

I've also put a bit of rubber pipe over the rod for the bonnet catch, where it goes past the battery, as that was looking a bit close...

Every 2 or 3 2cv is ready for expedition. It does not need any modifications... But it helps.

For our raid 2cv in RAID OZ 2000 I made an boot extension . In Slovenia is common to have this on 2cv-s for traveling. You can sleep in it , you can carry lot of not heavy stuff in it, you can have youre cooking gear in it.
On that raid we had an jerrycans in this place and a lot of other stuff. On that 10000 km raid we had no problems with that extension.

2cvviking know ,we had some other problems :D :D

I am still producing this boot extension today. The raid was a good test for it.

And like 2cvviking mention , if you travel light you can use every A-serie model of car.

Welcome Janez, very good to see some life sign from you.
From memory your raid down under was very good, traveling light. Your deuche
had a small weight problem carring too many beers and nothing else. That's the way. Break down, sit down, drink the beers and wait for the TEC team.

Cheers bastard
