Ru,

Found this, a list of 2cv raid / adventure books.

http://raid2cv.free.fr/pages/livresdaventures.htm

Unfortunately nothing on Paris - Perspolis - Paris, only Raids Afrique and Kaboul !! but it seems an authoratative list which maybe rules out finding a -published- account of P-P-P, you could contact the email address on the page to check as they seem to know the genre.

So maybe an officical Citroen Archive or Archiviste could be the only way to find out more, or perhaps you could post a request on a French 2cv / Citroen forum looking for anyone who took part!

Hope that Helps
Chris

Thanks for this Chris.

I emailed the publisher of that list a few days ago.. no reply as yet. I have also emailed the 2CV museum in France to see if they know of anything.. no reply as yet. I will certainly enquire on some other forums in France and contact Citroen. Meeting an ex PPP raider would be fantastic and certainly something to aim for.

Interestingly the 'stage' through former Yugoslavia now looks roughly like this:

Italy
Slovenia
Croatia
Montenegro
Kosovo
Macedonia
Greece

Kosovo is a little unknown and could be a bit tense and relations have been slightly frosty at the Macedonian border. However people do go overland through it.

Cheers
Ru

You probably speak perfect french, but just in case you do want someone to bung something down en francais, I'm more than happy to help. After 13 years over this side of la Manche it's not too bad. Pity I'm so far from everywhere being in Brittany, or I could probably get to a few more places.

I did e-mail an ex-student of mine at Citroën in Rennes who worked on their in-house magazine, no reply as yet, and no read-receipt, I hope he hasn't got the sack.

I'd like to speak perfect French but sadly not.. I have been using someone to translate a few emails for me. Thanks alot for the offer as well though. Good to have another translator at hand.

No worries mate (oops Australian half of me showing through), anything I can do to help (why am I saying this? I want you to sell me your Africa Rally car so I can convert it to 4x4).

I'm off to the musée des voitures in Luodeac at the weekend, they've got a couple of 2CVs and a good bookshop and archive (I believe the owner used to own some of France's car mags) so I'll ask there too.

Now I'm the last person to put a stop to another potential 4x4 owner but hands off!! Unfortunately The Walmington isn't completely mine to sell and if this PPP 2011 idea takes off it could be just the vehicle for the job..

I just did a bit of poking round the Citroen site, using Google site search, and still didn't turn up anything on Paris-Persepolis, only a dead link.

http://www.citroen.com/fr/passions/aven ... polis.html

Turned up something on Paris-Kabul and the Africa raid though

http://www.piecescitroensport.citroen.c ... ricanRaid/

and some general stuff on the 2CV is there too. I wonder why they don't mention the PPP, have the Iranians insulted them?

Probably..

Looks like someone repeated the route in 2001

Just looked at the Planete 2CV website http://www.planete2cv.fr/ and it looks like it's a few pages on the original rather than a repeat trip. Makes me laugh, the e-bay copy's £4.99 starting bid, or buy a new one from the publishers €6.50.
