Re: Raid Etoile - Immaculate Conception
Thx for the interest Citroenboat and Twochevrons, we had an excellent time, I've got pics from Viking raid 2012 to put together but my computer shat itself and now i'm short on time with a spud on the way, but it will happen! Yes Viking Van is standard fwd, I think Quaife is a great option, i'm hoping to get one in my 2cv this year! I have a few quaife posts on this forum... The correctly set up (standard) 2cv's have little problems in the epic out back heat, raiders have had the black sound deadening stuff dripping off the fire wall but the little motor still chugs away! It's the usual stuff; clean/clear oil cooler, timing set correct, carby jets set correct, good fan, ducting in place, remove side triangle panels if really farken hot, don't rev the tits off it, around 3000rpm it should get up most ascents that more modern cars are getting cooked on. VW's seem to fail due to lack of air being able to exit the engine bay.
Cheers
Harley PS @ Sam - Did anything happen with getting this write up in the 2cv GB mag?

Ah the power of the press - make you a hero one week & banish you to the outer darkness (say; Australia...?) the next.. Does his Samship realise how he holds us all in his palm? Granting favours & crushing hope @ will, so maybe he is getting round to it or saving it for a special 'Raid Issue'?! Or possibly not When he publishes it it will only make more of us want to emulate the Oz Raiders - will there be room in the Outback...? <- green-with-envy!

Harley, give Sam a pm on that I know he is busy with lots at the mo, but he may have missed that last question about the 2cvgb article.
