Nice pictures, Bart - love the line-up on the start grid, that's a properly awesome picture!

We made it over in 2007 - weather was terrible, we arrived on the Friday night to be greeted by snow & the organisers memorably asked 'You've come all the way from England, for this?!'

I've not been yet but really want to this year or next, the belgian spec cars look mental. Just out of interest, has anyone got anymore under bonnet pics of the bee-em engined cars. just curious Image

Belgium racers are amazing, but seem fragile as well, moreover (for as far as I may comment) they don't always look so cleverly build.
I have been there in 2003 2006 and last time, had to miss some because of my tight student budget or health as was in 2007.

Joolz, had a look for BMW pictures:

@ Spa 2006, which was a batlefield, if you need a confirmation ask Richard Hollis, I think I have seen him spannering almost the whole night...

Thanks Bart, it's really interesting to see how different people try to do the same thing. But you're right, the plastic bottles don't look so professional. The car in the first pic has an A-type gearbox, with nearly 100bhp I don't think that could last very long.
Any more?

It is indeed a Atype gearbox, but although this is a Belgium racer it wasn't actually racing last time it was just standing in the pits with some guys working on it. I was also surprised about the 2cv gearbox.

Haven't got more BMW engine pictures, but many more pictures of engines from the ameloire (602 with original carb class) and proto (visa and 2cv engine parts, play as much as you like) when you fancy those.

Very 'pleased' to see those pics of damaged BMW engines too, now if only the British series would dump the whacky control camshaft there'd be virtually no 2cv engine damage again!

 I don't think the control bit of the camshaft is the problem, but the profile, which is more 'agressive'. I suspect a control cam with a like or close to original profile would save a lot of engines. However the control cam is good business for you Roy... you can sell more bits, so why complain ;)

Has there been any idea as to why the problem seemed to go away and return again? IIRC one year (2004?) it was carnage in the pits, then the problem seemed to go and returned again a year or two later.
