Well, so it says on that website, and there's mention of it on the racing clubs forum too. I can't find out how many are entered or likely to turn up though. Apparently they're cars from the mighty minis series but with 998cc engines. I can't find much out about it though.

Was speaking to a guy with a mini miglia yesterday, he reckoned that the engines would really struggle to last..

That's my thinking too. I don't know how they'll cope and if they don't I don't know how they will change them quickly. Then again, they might be alright. I'd like to see one. We're having a test day with the race car in the near future, I'd like to see a mini there to compare.

Ah. No, I didn't know that. I thought it finished 11 am Monday ... Maybe I will be there then. Who else is going?

I'm thinking of popping along, I've already posted on some Mini owning friends Facebook pages to see if they're interested in coming along (I doubt it, they've no sense of adventure being Mini owners  ).

Right. I've just been reminded by my girlfriend, more forcibly than I considered necessary, that it's her dad's 70th on the Saturday and I am bidden to attend the celebrations. So what with that, and playing at the wedding of some complete strangers, and not after all being at Snetterton, it looks like I'm in for a really good bank holiday.

I'm not at the forefront of the decision making, but we discussed it at length at the AGM and it was voted in. As far as I am aware, the minis will be running to specially devised regulations, aimed at making them roughly the same pace as us. They will race at the same time as us, but will probably start and finish 30-60 seconds later (a bit like they do in karting). As the cars are being built just for this event, there will probably only be a few this year. Personally, I am really looking forward to racing against them. Obviously this is all still a bit provisional so don't get too excited, but they have definitely been invited so I expect to see some there!

Five entered so far, I believe. It's a bastard to find info on it on the web.

I'm guessing there won't be any Belgian cars this year, so the minis will kind of fit in where they did last year. I'm looking forward to making them look silly!

I've just watched 'days of thunder', and it's proper got me in the mood for this!
