Also easy to fit 3 (or even 4) Minis in a pit garage without any squabbling about territory...

Nice, You reckon they will return next year? Snetterton is turning into quite a large event now... All we need to do is get more support like Spa

Post Re: 2012 24 hour race
I'm not sure, I get a feeling the mighty mini racers wanted to do it as a viability study for their own 24hr event. I might be wrong. If anything snetterton felt like a smaller event this year despite a capacity grid, with the 11am finish and the 'top billing' of the trucks following straight on it seemed like we were an inconvenience or a minor warm up event that had to be got out of the way before the important stuff could happen, whereas the 24hr should be the top billing itself, I doubt it ever will be though. We tried to organise a meeting there few years ago when 2cvgb were dithering about organising an international, sadly they got their act together and did one in the end which meant there wouldn't have been much point in us pursuing it further. I believe Sam is trying to get something off the ground which would be nice, it really wouldn't hurt 2cvgb if they recognised the c2cvrc existed and made more of an effort to support their events, it'd be so easy and the racing club are very open to these kind of ideas.

Missed race as over the water (but going to Spa)

Thanks

What was it like in the pits Russ, would we have been able to do 'our' set up and did everyone have to clear out straight after the race

And with that many entries I assume that 3/4 cars per garage

If you got there early enough, I guess so, but by the time I'd arrived on Friday the whole site was packed, and they were moaning on the tannoy and at the drivers briefing about cars parked in the road but there really was nowhere else to park, the caping was overstretched too. We had three cars in our garage as did most others, the Minis and I believe, the Euro cars were four to a garage. It was packed. We had rumours that we were going to be turfed out shortly after the race but they kindly let us stay until the following morning. The 11am finish didn't suit me at all, I guess I'm just a frail old man now but I was in bed by Midnight as I'd been dragged into the Dutch tent a number of times and was ruined. A 5pm finish leaves a more reasonable drinking period after the race.
